I appreciate your point about using a USB keyboard but it is one more thing to carry. You will need someone technically competent to determine that it is not a cheeting aid so get used to figuring out native keyboards quickly. This is not as hard as it sounds. Most screen readers have key describer modes which should help with this. There is no substitute for practice. Practice at home under test conditions with the computer.
