Hi Please don’t give in to insistence of signing the document immediately. You can even magistrate or any authority to render you time as you are a VI.
I use both thumb and signature together or mostly separately depending on significance, long term/short term financial impact and room for defense in case of litigation. Firstly, I am not aware of any rule denying executor (signing person) to not sign and stamp a thumb together. So in the matters of property I use both signature and thumb impression. In fact, sub-divisional registrar Dombivli had appreciated this idea. They do ask for both but some sighted people avoid it. Secondly, I use 3 signatures 1 frivolous for surveys, feedback forms etc. 2 for serious but no financial implications and 3 for most serious matters which have long-term large financial or other impacts. In such matters, it is better to use both signature and thumb impression. Other aspects are, what does the service provider want for example, as someone mentioned for d-mat, credit cards and loan (in my case) I used my second signature as I have liability to pay and not gain from the transaction. Importantly in my case, the process wasn’t moving ahead in all 3 cases as I had thumb impression on all KYC documents like PAN card, passport etc. But I got my signature approved by my parent bank and got all 3 processes through. Basically, your parent bank through some form attests and approves that signature used for above mentioned services matches with the signatures used for cheques and other transactions through the parent bank and that’s enough. Let me note here, that I have to get at least one of my KYC document based on my one of my signatures. So I can avoid going to my parent bank to approve the matching of signatures everytime. Advice is to get at least get your one KYC document based on your confirmed signature so you can use it wherever signature is mandatory for smooth process. Another important point, have you asked signature verifier that what does he look for when he verifies the signature? I had and the answer was : They do not strictly look for 100% matching of signature. What they do look for use curves and their sharp or curvy turns and number of turns in the signature. What I mean to say is that signature does not necessarily have to be an initial letter alphabet etc. It can be any unique scribbling that u only can do more or less in the same manner everytime. They would only look for similarities. Mind you, these are my ways and in my opinion, they are all right. If anybody has any suggestion I will appreciate. Bottomline, I use all the possible service and transactions available to sighted people and do not want to be stranded for a want of circulars as was the case when I had to open myd-mat account. Icicidirect showed me NSDL/CSDL circular and denied me d-mat on the basis of my thumb impression. So I had to give them my signature and with another hand an “Angootha” saying dude I have it with or with out “ANgootha” :P Do please as I earlier said guide me if I am wrong… ~Cheers On 9/27/13, Vivekananda Doddamani. <[email protected]> wrote: > in case of purchase of property both signature & thumb ipression is > necessary because in Shimoga in Karnataka recently I purchased land > and there I had to do both in registrar office, related to reading of > documents always in such time you should accompany with of any sighted > person who is very close to you, scaning & laptops doesn't work in > Registrar office, simply talking of carrying of laptops & scanners to > registrar Offices and any other government offices while signing > documents is not easy, there you have to depend any sincere person > either your spouse or parants > > On 9/26/13, maitreya shah <[email protected]> wrote: >> hi all, >> thanks for your wonderful reply . >> here , one more thing , >> i was denyed by many government departments for signing documents >> saying that thumb mark is compulsory for blind . >> also ,before sometime ,when i was giving my thumb marks for passport , >> there were so many documents to be signed and all that documents were >> difficult to be obtain in soft copy . >> so please throw some light on this also . >> >> thanks, >> Maitreya Shah >> +91-8690943237 >> >> On 9/26/13, akhilesh <[email protected]> wrote: >>> In case of a property sail, you have no time. the signature is to be >>> put in the presence of both parties and the magistrate. >>> There is a limitted time alotted to the clients. >>> >>> No no.
