hi, although i dont have much experiences with scanning, still would like to try to help you out. what type of that document is it that you are scanning? is it a printed copy? or it is a electronic pdf document? if it is a printed copy, are you scanning it directly threw fine reader? probbably this problem seems because of immage resolution as some times documents are in very small text and therefore it becomes difficult for OCR programs to detect it properly.
