Hi Amar,

I will call you soon but before that, I want to tell you that the written reply is not given to me. as I have already mentioned, urmila madam from my branch told me that your application is rejected saying that credit card cannot be given to blind person. when I inquired further then she told me that we sends the application to Benglore to some company so we don't know why they have rejected. I gave the IBA circular and she sent back my application to them. let's see what happens. can I request you to call urmila madam on phone number 02228651642? you will get more details from her. thanks for showing interest in my matter.

Subject: Re: [AI] regarding credit card of private bank for visually impaired

Wow Vikas, denial in writing! That too in Mumbai where the RBI also
has its head office!
Very important for me to know:
1. Does the written reply come from someone like Branch Manager or
Cards Division?
2. Does it have the seal of the Bank if the reply is not on email
(officially from Union Bank)?

The 4th June 2008 circular of RBI is wide enough to cover the credit
card facility. As a very first step, please drop an email to senior
management, attaching the RBI and IBA circulars.

In the mean while could I request you to have a telephonic
conversation with me preferably after 6.30 in the evening on weekdays
or anytime over the weekend. I am reachable on: +91-9892622230.

Since its Union Bank which has done commendable job on accessible ATMs
thanks to Prashant Naik, also a member of this list, to see if we can
get it sorted internally.

@Prashant Sir: a P.O. of Union Bank is being denied credit card on the
grounds of thumb impression and visual impairment. Based on his
representation, I understand that he has been given a written
rejection. However, I haven't reviewed the written rejection or its
contents. Would appreciate your inputs please.

Regards,
