thank you Dennis. I was quite surprised to see you mention my site.

If I may, I'd like to make sure Brenda realizes that I do not start from the
beginning. My site assumes you are already comfortable with the basics, and
much of the site helps you become comfortable with using VBA programming,
even if you have never programmed.

I hope it is worth the visit though, and Brenda can decide if it is suitable
for her.

Richard

  Hi, Brenda,

I'm a little ahead of you but certainly no expert when it comes to
databases. There is one site I would recommend and that is
databaselessons.com which belongs to Richard Kiley. He explains
things very well and covers a variety of topics.

For personal help and answering questions I rely on www.techguy.com.
There are many experts who monitor the site and are generous with
their time and skills. I was particularly helped by a programmer in
Wales - because of the time difference I often had answers when I
  logged on in the morning!

Having said this I will reiterate what you already realize: there's
no substitute for self discovery. Occasionally I was able to improve
on the answers I got on techguy and post them back. The first time
you do that you will get a real sense of accomplishment.

  Regards,
  Dennis
