To me it sounds like we have multiple groups who have seen a problem and have 
been willing to spend the time to work on the solutions.

I believe we should put a BOF proposal for the London IETF meeting together. 
How does that sound?

The main reason was that it did not fit into the official DICE work program. 
Meanwhile, the student who did most of the work (including a working 
prototype[1] which is also available as rubby gem) has graduated and left the 
university.

But there is no technical reason for not taking this up again.
