I'm not really sure Nate, I do know something needs to be done about it
however.. I've been running ACPI=off for about two months now (after having
avoided upgrading linux kernel for quite sometime), and it's not a good long
term solution as it'll likely cause the battery to wear out well before it's
age. I don't really fancy having to buy a new laptop to deal with this when my
laptop is fine.
