--- Comment #96 from Xavier Hourcade <public....@xapaho.com> 2012-06-16 17:16:18 --- (In reply to comment #95) > After falling back to linux 3.3.6 (3.3.6-jng5-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue May > 15 > 16:09:46 UTC 2012 (241577b) x86_64) on May 31, I didn't suffer a single > shutdown in the last 16 days. With 3.4 it did shut down 2 to 4 times a day. You're very lucky :) Here I haven't tried the 3.4 series yet, and I think all Fedora 16 stock kernels have presented the issue so far, for sure these latest ones since I monitored everything much more carefully: kernel-3.3.5-2.fc16.x86_64 (since May 14) kernel-3.3.6-3.fc16.x86_64 (since May 22) kernel-3.3.7-1.fc16.x86_64 (since May 27) kernel-3.3.8-1.fc16.x86_64 (since Jun 14) All of these did *feel* more stable sometimes, i.e. several days long without any issues, but again this is just an illusion : all of a sudden sh*t may happen at any time (last was yesterday here, several in a row again). I am also under the impression there are boots that will work and others that will fail. In other words, I try to "sleep" rather than poweroff, and so far it has proven to much extend the usability duration, but obviously this is simply impossible to prove. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
