You don't have to store the WEB files in the preferences folder, just the Active4D.ini file. However, like us, you probably don't want to do this.
So, as I understand you correctly, if I "move" the Active4d.ini file to the Preferences folder (which I could "live" with) then I can define in the Active4D.ini the actual physical location of the "web" folder?
What we would like is if A4D would also search the 4D Data File directory for the Active4D.ini file.
Well, for a standalone application, it does make sense to store the .ini in the Preferences folder as that is the normal place where all other Mac applications store their preferences (although it would typically go in "Application Support")
Bottom line, if I can define WHERE the application should look for the web folder, I think all would be fine.
