It seems that there are a few interested 4D/Active4D developers that are looking at the server environment options. I went ahead and downloaded Apache 2.2.x for Windows and set it up today. I have to say that it went better than I thought. After browsing the web and documentation I was able to configure that server and virtual hosts after a couple of hours. The site uses a rewrite rule similar to Webstars and servers static and dynamic pages quite quickly, though I am now looking at tools to actually measure the speed capabilities. It actually seems about twice as fast as my Webstar 5.4.x server. The Webstar machine is a dual G4 with 1.25 GB of RAM, the Apache server is a Single Xeon Quad core with 2GB RAM. I'll post other information as I dig more into the Apache world. It looks like I'm going to be able to put Webstar in my rearview window.
