Mike, Not using SSL so I can't comment on that, but I can say Apache + Active4D + 4D 2003 = me a happy chappy!
We saw a HUGE speed increase in serving static content, we sometimes have to server multi-megabyte PDFs, and the download speeds went from 40-50k per second upto 250k per second. Also we noticed 4D crashed less when fronted by Apache. I do have to say that the web server in 4D 2004 appears to be quicker though, although I haven't done too much testing on this. I had a little difficulty working out the rewrite rules, but in the end I got them working (with more than a little help from this list). HTH James.
