I don't know what the reason is but I can imagine a few candidates.

Web solutions have been popping up all over the place lately - Lightning, 4D's 
PHP implementation, Wakanda, mobile stuff.

Possibly some of the previous Active4D customers were not squarely in the 
eCommerce bracket but rather the web applications sector and have now gone for 
one of the Javascript environments. New web users have probably gone for 
Lightning since it gets a lot of press and seems to be a shorter leap than A4D.

So there's 3 drains for a start:

[1] - entry level people who's gone into Lightning whereas before there was 
only Active4D for active stuff

[2] - ecommerce people who are doing PHP with 4D

[3] - web applications people who are going for javascript environments

Just my thoughts. Jeez, I hope this doesn't spell a murky horizon for Active4D. 
It is by far the best solution for advanced web stuff.
