Aside from my tape backups, I have firewire drives that are rotated out weekly that I use to backup my SQL Backups as well as user dirs, Exchange and other files.
It is just a means of redundancy. The retrospect program is roughly 4 years old and is a stand alone. Doesn't work with tape drives, just copys the EX databases and logs to a given location. All I am looking for is another program that does the same that is a little newer. Thanks John Parker, MCSE IS Admin. Senior Technical Specialist Alpha Display Systems. It is simply called retrospect exchange backup. Pretty small actually, it does the bachup to a location and also has scheduling, which is temperamental at best. John Parker, MCSE IS Admin. I currently use Backup exec to perform my nightly backups. I like it, it seems to work just fine. I also use a small retrospect piece that does a live backup to a flat file 4 times throughout the day. I was wondering if anyone else is performing "Hot" backups throughout the day and if so, what are you using? We are running Exchange 2000 on server 2000. Thank you. John Parker, MCSE IS Admin.
