Just try running mstsc.exe /v:server_name which will get you away from any web browser involvement.

I was using this tool from the windows 2003 server adminpak on my windows xp pro computer to remote control my servers in my domain and One day just stopped working. does any one know what is wrong or am I out of luck?? any help or guidance on this issue???
