Also have you run any of the security lockdown stuff on the IIS? If you
have I know that part of that can disable the ASP services.

No, much as I would like to. Even if it were my machine, with all the
other
prep work that is being done, and with the show he wants to present the
website at on Sunday, there really isn't time. I keep hoping it has to
do
with settings, and that we just haven't found the right information on
how
to do this. Has anyone done what we're trying to do? Should setting
the
localhost up to handle ASP be a simple thing?

Any way you can blow the OS away and start over from scratch?

Are you sure permissions to execute the scripts are set? Just a
thought!

You might try this:
1) go into IIS Management Console
2) Go to properties of your site
3) Click on "Home Directory" tab
4) Click the "Remove" button next to Apllication name
5) Click the "Create" button which has taken it's place.

Tried this, didn't help

What service pack is the machine on?
Did you re-service pack the machine once IIS was installed?

SP1 is installed, and was installed when he got the machine. It was
also
reinstalled the other day. From what I've been hearing, I'm leery of
recommending he install SP2.

Is there something else we could try? There has to be a way to get this
to
work.

Diane
