utmbHealth, in Galveston, does not have that distinction between Board and Presidential within the institution. We have our Board of Regent's Regulations which sometimes are the genesis for our institutional policies. Within our policy of policies we use the following criteria to determine if the policy is Institutional or local to the department: 1. required by a regulatory group (TJC, FDA, CDC, CMS, Federal or State Law, etc) 2. scope is interdisciplinary and/or crosses several environments of care or personnel 3. focus is one entire group within utmbHealth, e.g., students, faculty, et.
There is a category within the eleven subsections of the institutional policies that is titled Institutional and these would be authored by the President's Office. These include the mission, vision and values of the facility; the policy of policies; the rules and regs of the Regents, etc. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Lloyd, Lynda Sent: Monday, May 12, 2014 9:18 AM To: Institutional policy-related discussions Subject: RE:[acupa-l] Distinction Between Board Policies and Presidential (Administrative) Policies Our Board policies are managed by the Board with help from the President's administrative assistants. Please also include in your response whether the Board" policies are managed by the policy office or a Board office. Thank you for your feedback. Best.
