Hi,
We have a Communicable and Infectious Disease policy. HR has ownership of this.

Communicable and Infectious Diseases
Definition
Communicable disease shall include, but is not limited to, influenza;
tuberculosis; conjunctivitis; infectious mononucleosis; acquired immune
deficiency syndrome (AIDS); AIDS-related complex (ARC); positive HIV antibody
status; hepatitis A, B, and D; meningitis; and sexually transmitted diseases.
(N.C.G.S. 130A)
Purpose
The objective of this policy is to promote the good health and safety of
employees and students and to prohibit discrimination against persons afflicted
with communicable diseases.
Policy
It is the policy of the College to comply with all state and federal laws
relating to the protection of qualified persons with a disability or
handicapping condition. The College will make every effort to insure that
persons considered handicapped by a communicable disease who are employed by
the College or admitted to the College as students are afforded all the rights
and privileges of these laws. However, it is not discriminatory action under
North Carolina law to fail to hire, transfer, promote, or discharge a
handicapped person because the person has a communicable disease in which the
risk of contagion cannot be eliminated by reasonable accommodation.

Employees and students who may become infected with a contagious disease,
including HIV and AIDS, will not be excluded from employment or enrollment, or
restricted in their access to College services or facilities, unless
medically-based judgment in an individual case determines that exclusion or
restriction is necessary for the welfare and safety of members of the College
community.
Confidentiality shall be strictly maintained by the College for any employee or
student with HIV, AIDS, or other contagious diseases.
College employees and students engaged in patient care activities are
encouraged to know their HIV and HBV status.
Great meeting so many fellow policy gurus out there!

Subject: [acupa-l] Infectious Disease Policy

Within your institution, where is your policy on infectious disease housed -
under General Administration, HR, ....Here in NJ by statue it should fall under
the college's Emergency Operations Plan as a Board of Trustees policy. Do any
of your institutions have such a policy in place that you could share as
appoint of reference and have any of you incorporated it into your
institution's emergency op plan?

Thanks for any information you may be able to provide.
