Excerpt:

1.     Entry in Rooms

1.1. The university's right to enter or search a room will be exercised with
discretion. Authorized university personnel, before entering a room, should
knock, and if no answer is received wait five (5) seconds before knocking a
second time. If no answer is received at the second knock, the worker shall
use the room key and slightly open the door and announce themselves by stating
their department, (House Keeping, Maintenance, or Security) and then enter.

2. Room Entry. If possible, a reasonable effort will be made to have the
occupant(s) present during necessary entry into resident rooms. Authorized
agents and personnel of the University reserve the right to enter rooms at any
time for the purposes of:

2.1. Maintenance, cleaning, or physical improvement of the room. When
possible, the resident(s) of a room will be given prior notice of prescheduled
work;

2.2.   Inspection for health or safety;

2.3.   Violations of University regulations;

2.4. Emergency or disruptive situations (which include, but are not limited
to, loud music, telephone ringing, or an alarm sounding) or situations that
endanger the safety or welfare of residents.

Subject: [acupa-l] Facilities Management policy

Good Afternoon,

Does anyone have a policy that they can share with me regarding Facilities
Management/maintenance or custodial employees entering students rooms to
perform maintenance or cleaning? Policy and Process would be helpful if at all
possible.  Thanks!

Thanks and Have a Great Day!
