Hi Heather,
We used to have our Employee Handbook in a word document that could be
converted to a PDF or a printable format but I wanted to get away from that.
After doing a lot of research on my end and talking to our attorney, our HR and
looking at our state laws to see if it was required that we have a printed
handbook, it was determined that it was not required of us so we no longer keep
a hardcopy of our Employee Handbook, which means people can no longer print off
our entire book of policies. However, we are required to have a printable
College Catalog for various accrediting agencies so I still keep a word version
of the College Catalog that I can convert to a PDF and send to the appropriate
people.

Thanks,
Rachel

Subject: [acupa-l] Policy Handbook PDF

Hello friends,

I received a call this morning requesting our Handbook as a pdf. He stated a
requirement by NSF to submit a pdf of the institution's Handbook as part of a
grant application. We've never had ours in a pdf, but the caller was quick to
tell me we are the only university that doesn't follow this practice.

Let's see a show of hands. How many of you have the entire Handbook as ONE pdf?
Am I the outlier? I'm not opposed to creating one, but it would need to be at a
slower time of the year.

Thanks,
Heather
