Nicole, Any policies that might discuss how it's decided who should get a comp ticket would be decided at the unit level as the others have responded. However, if you're looking for something that addresses broader gift issues and tax implications, Purdue has just published a policy on Gifts, Gratuities and Recognition (linked below). The policy reminds departments that when giving gifts to students, they have to be cautious of athletics association rules, and when giving items to public officials, they have to be cautious of federal and state laws. It also provides a grid as an appendix to the procedures (also linked below) that shows the approval and tax requirements for tangible items.
