Tinu, On our policy site at Cornell, we have a glossary of terms that are used in policy development. As to definitions within policies, each policy has its own "Definitions" section, with a note at the top of the page that states, "These definitions apply to these terms as they are used in this policy." When possible, we use common definitions for the same word in different policies, but there is only one term, used a great deal, whose definition does not vary: "Unit: A college, department, program, research center, business service center, financial transaction center, or other operating unit."

Do you have one on your policy site? More than one? Presented as an optional resource to use for drafting or requirement? Used for some terms but not others? Have more than one definition for the same term (student, employee, etc.)? Thanks!
