Hello Tinu,

The University of Washington has a separate whistleblower policy based on
Washington State law: "Summary of the State Employee Whistleblower Act"
(Administrative Policy Statement
47.1<http://www.washington.edu/admin/rules/policies/APS/47.01.html>) and it
defines roles for the University's leadership, including our Internal Audit
unit, as well as the State Auditor's role.

Also, we have brief statements regarding protection from retaliation that
appear in various relevant UW policies, some of which point back to the policy
listed above.

All the best,

Rebecca

Subject: [acupa-l] Whistleblower Policy?

Hi all,
We are considering revisions to our Protection for Reporting Improper
Government Activities policy which is a restatement of protection from
retaliation under North Carolina law. I am interested in knowing if other
universities have a separate Whistleblower Protection policy or simply provide
employees with access to information regarding retaliation protections under
applicable state or federal law.
Thanks,
Tinu
