That does the reboot etc for the workstations/server. I am looking at
getting consultant help to backup my plan for this so all goes well.

How long would u budget for the process

That does reboots?

Reboot-with-Powershell.aspx

Something that drives the entire rename process? It was done under
contract and I can't release it. But the Microsoft guidance works well.

What would a sample script look like that would handle this?

Also if you could please clarify on the comment a exchange can never be
renamed?

I believe it's actually two reboots. That's what my script does anyway.

I don't think so, when the domain is renamed the PC's might need to be
rebooted, or you can use a script with NETDOM to do the rejoin I
believe.

Once the Domain has been renamed do we have to rejoin all member servers
and PC work stations that are a part of this domain?

Do you have to unjoin them first. The articles may say this but didn't
have a chance to read them all yet

Thanks

Any word on when there will be a tool to assist with domain renaming
with Exchange 2007?

Then it's up to you. Google rendom, and the Exchange rename tool, on
Microsoft's support site.

It's probably easier to rename the domain. There is something to be said
for "starting fresh" as well.

Hi.

We are a college and we are changing out name thus the domain name will
have to be changed.

I am running AD on windows 2003 serve and exchange 2003 for email.. Is
it best to setup a new domain and migrate users to that or try to rename
the current one in place.

Any suggestions would be helpful

Thanks

Ryan
