Females compromise %2 of the OSS hackers surveyed. A good portion of them
would probably be into documentation or website design or Perl scripting. In
other words maybe one or two do actual hacking.
I'd love to get a SIG together that possibly recruits directly from schools
and nerdy female organizations to get real Hackeresses together in a room.
I'd like to see that survey show %50 male.
It would _probably_ better for a female to take charge, but I'll volunteer
my services till someone else can take over.
Someone mentioned to me that a similar initiative was taken by OCLUG. Any
ideas on who I can speak to? Also, how many people in Toronto would be
interested in hosting/setting up such a thing?
I have some great contacts with Digital Eve. I'm sure they would be
interested.
