I just posted the below message on the Apple support forums. If I behave
like an asshole in the coming days you all know why that is. I am really
fed-up. I agree with everybody who says that PCs/Windows are superious and
that Apple/Macs are crap. Because it is true, Apple is crap, a waste of
money. If you consider buying an Apple because you hear all this great
stories about it, don't do it, buy a PC instead. My Apple G4 is for sale.
If I am not throwing it in the river.

Purchased OS Panther, LaCie DVD burner and other software for my G4,
expecting it would take 2 hours to install everything and continue with my
work (video editing). Well forget it. Apple is not what it used to be. It
all starts with the instruction on the Panther install CD to install and
use StartUp disk to restart the computer from CD Rom. They should have
checked first if that would work. Because it doesn't work, you can't select
the CD Rom in StartUp disk. Why don't they just say that you have to
restart the computer and hold down the "c" key? This was the start of a lot
of other misery, like spending 12 hours to get the DVD player to work. It
still doesn't work and now I am re-installing Panther all over again. I
upgraded from OS 9 and must say that Panther is faster, solid, etc, but in
my opinion the interface is like going 20 years back in time. It hurts my
eyes. And what I really wonder... if Windows was able to "tile windows
horizontally/vertically" 10 years ago already, why can't Panther still do
that today? Call me stupid, maybe I am stupid, but isn't that why I bought
an Apple in the first place? Because Apples were SO EASY to use? At this
moment I don't believe in Apple anymore.
