That makes sense, Jeff, but it's not what I meant to describe. If in 6.5 
you don't grab that end bit just right when you drag down, you end up with 
an attachment point at the end of the line, as you should, AND a second one 
above it, at the top of the opacity bar. That's the one you can't eliminate 
by dragging out of the bar as you could elsewhere. If you could do so, 
there would still be one remaining for the purpose you describe.

If you drag that second problem point (which is what causes the glitch) 
down to meet the one at the end of the red line, it merges with it, and 
displays only one. Then you're good to go. As you point out, working zoomed 
in makes it far less likely that you'll create the glitch in the first place.

rid of the opacity keyframes (rubberband handles) at the beginning and end
of a clip. Because, you always need an opacity level to start at, and an
opacity level to end at.
