We've had Pro on two edit suites here since it was released. We earn a very good living on it. Look round the video section of our website... all the videos are edited on PPro. No, it doesn't have "lots of problems"; it's a professional piece of editing software. He should read more widely to see what other benefits it will bring; we moved over from Speedrazer, so never touched 6.5, but I've been told there's a huge difference. I would say that the Premiere software alone is not a smart way to work... it needs hardware to back it up. We successfully use the Matrox RTX-100 cards at present.
