Sune,
first, if you leave track one blank, it will always be displayed as black
when rendered. So instead of having 'black video' on a track, you can just
transition in and out of your video clips. This assumes, of course, that you
have nothing on tracks in between the track with the video and track one.
It has been a while since I have done this sort of transition, but I also
remember a disolve transition that was 'fade to black' or something like that.
Is that available in your version of Premiere?
I have, just to let you know, always performed the 'fade to black' just the
way I described above, simply because I felt it gives more control over your
fades. I maybe wrong, but I was always happier taking the extra time and
putting in individual fades. I know it can be cumbersome and time consuming,
but I really believe you will find that be happier with the outcome.
HTH,
Tom

Hi group!
I have several video tracks in my sequence and I'd like for all of them to
dip to black from time to time (as a transition between segments).
The approach I am currently using is far from effective I think. I add a few
seconds of black video on a seperate video track and then I fade in and fade
out at the start and at the end of the short clip. This is not very precise.
Isn't there a better way to do this?
Thanks all:)
