I think it's more about the how many clips used in a sequence instead of just 
the length of it. Most of my projects are weddings including many many many and 
many short clips.  Project file size goes between 30MB to 50MB.

  I've noticed in Encore, even tho a program is long, 
  a few clips, tho long, don't involve such long times 
  to save the project. The same 2 hour project in PPro 
  takes considerably longer to save, so I assume it is 
  a function of the file size and not the program length.
