I don't have Canon H1 but I have a Canon HV20. I use a free tool called
HDVSplit (just google it). It captures HDV footage as .m2t (mpeg 2 transport)
file that I can import and edit in PP2.

HV20 is selling around $8xx these days. It's good to buy one as playback/record
deck to reduce tears and wears of your H1.

  Hello, All.

Anyone having trouble capturing HDV footage shot on Canon H1? I'm
using the camera as a deck, created 1080i HDV project in PP 2.0, shot
footage 60i HDV. I was hoping to just plug in the firewire and start
capturing... but no go. PP2 will control the camera, but I can't see
  any footage.

As far as I can see all of the settings are correct? What am I missing?

  Thanks.
