I think Premiere only works with uncompressed clips. If you have used a codec and compression in AE, Premiere probably doesn't like it.
-----Original Message----- From: rob [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 6:42 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [AP] Premiere / Blackmagic problem using a Blackmagic card with Premiere... strange problem: I can render a file from After Effects 7 using a Blackmagic codec, but when I open Premiere 2.0 it'll let me add effects/transitions to the clip but none of the effects/transitions show up. And no red-line (pre-render) appears above the effect/transistion either. The clip will only play back if I do nothing to it... the moment I do some editing, nothing happens when I hit the spacebar... the timeline cursor just sits there. But tho I can't see any of the effects I've applied to a clip or preview it, I CAN render the clip and all the effects applied will be in the rendered clip. Go figure. So far I've... 1) rebooted 2) Ctrl/Alt/Shift-loaded Premiere 3) checked the registry 4) re-installed the Blackmagic codecs (6.1.2) 5) re-installed Premiere and After Effects ...is there something obvious I'm missing? If I use a standard codec like Huffyuv, everything works normally (ie: the red-line appears above the clip, etc). I don't really care whether Blackmagic or Adobe is the cause, I just want to know if there's a solution.
