I have been struggling with this as well.. The Minidv HDV camcorders
see to beat out
even the latest hard drive based ones in picture quality given the
mpeg2 compression used on the hard drive units. Yet having a simple
file to drag over to the computer via
USB is a lot easier then capturing everything from the minidv.
Anyone have a suggestion in the 1 to 2k range?
