I haven't investigated it myself but I was told at a recent HDV seminar
that Cineform makes an intermediate
codec, usable by Premiere Pro CS3, to edit AVCHD, which itself has long
GOPs (groups of pictures) that
contain minimal key frames. The Cineform codec creates full frame video
editable on any frame. I hope it turns
out to be both true and useful to you.
