PPro CS3 will capture MPEG4. Using USB, you transfer the clips to the PC as files, then Import them into PPro.
I have two Sony DV camcorders. One is tape and uses Firewire for transfer of video and USB for transfer of photos. The other one is HDD and uses USB for all transfers. Be thankful that you have USB transfer, as it's much faster than using Firewire, which transfers clips in real time from Sony camcorders. :-( Regards, Alan. www.theatreorgans.co.uk www.virtualtheatreorgans.com Admin: ConnArtistes, UKShopsmiths, 2nd Touch & A-P groups Shopsmith 520 + bits Flatulus Antiquitus ----- Original Message ----- From: Johnny K. So, that means you can not plug the USB port directly to the computer and make Premiere see it, when it is plugged into the computer, the camera becomes a 'removable drive' So, you first is copy the file to your computer, then fine a program that can convert your MPEG4 AVC/H.264 SD: MPEG2 file into something that Premiere would/can read. Premiere Pro CS3 might be able to read it (not 100% sure) but any previous version of Premiere, you need the codec to make it work directly without conversion. If you need to find converter or codec, I think MainConcept.com has a 30 day trial to test it out with. Johnny Wu .
