I've got a trial version of WinDVD installed right now. Right before
that my motherboard (nvidia n5 sli e) came with a bundled version of
WinDVD copy 5 which ran out of it's trial version date. And the
WinDVD 9 with Blu Ray I'm currently using won't update until I toss
down the dough to buy it.....argh.....hmmm...

The DVD burns play cleanly, and I have lowered bit rates in export
settings in mpeg2....these adjusted files play a bit better but
degrade as they play....eventually giving a awful image.

Export settings are set to 1440 x 1080i
vbr 2 pass
pixel aspect ratio: 1.33 widescreen
profile: main
level: high
field order: upper
gop m 3
gop n 15

the encoder says it using "mainconcept mgeg video" as the codec is
that normal?

I'm very reluctant to install anything I absolutely don't need so as
much as I appreciate the zoomplayer.....is it a small program or is
it going to more headaches?
