I'm sorry to hear you are having these problems. Question: are these
third-party plugins? I ask because I had no problems with any Adobe effects
I used when moving from CS4 to CS5 (they use basically the same effects).
However, I have one third-party plugin from CS3-4 days, which is 32-bit.
That particular plugin won't work at all - they plan to come out with their
64-bit version, which is scheduled but still not out.

Since I thought CS5 has all of the same Adobe ones as CS4, that is why I'm
wondering whether this is a non-Adobe plugin.

When you say "export a project from CS4" I assume you mean from the CS4
application and not simply from the CS4 directory, right? If so, then I ask:
do you have to export using the 32-bit CS4 - can't you just open the CS4
project using CS5 (letting it make the new CS5 project) and export using
CS5?

Subject: [AP] plug-in folder?

hi,
we finally installed cs5. the 1st project i tried to open (that was created
in CS4) looked like it would work EXCEPT for certain parts on the timeline
are missing the plug-ins for whatever effects we used.how do i find the ones
we used for the cs4 project? is it easy to just copy them over to cs5 plugin
folder or do i need to reinstall them from scratch?
(I knew it wouldn't go easy!)

next question- i tried to export a project from cs4 just to get it over &
done with & out of the computer.I wanted to do a straight AVI copy of the
complete timeline. I did update the mpeg encoder- although i'm sure it isn't
necessary when exporting to avi. Anyway- the project is only 17 min. long,
SD, but it said it was gonna take 4 hours 36 minutes, then it crashed
multiple times around 20 minutes in.
(reminding our config: Dell 64 bit - win 7 - i9 processor-upgraded recently
to 12 GB ram- using 3 separate hard drives- ).

I just cannot get a break with anything here- it's either a win7 problem, an
encoding problem, a this or that. are we ever gonna be able to get a project
finished & out of the computer? My frustration level is overwhelming- to the
point that i don't wanna go home from work anymore because i know what's
waiting at home (trying to get this $%@##&^@* video stuff to work).
thanks in advance for understanding my need to vent- sorry if it bothers any
of you!!
