Yep, all flat screen monitors are progressive scan.

In PP you can also change the program monitor to full screen. Select the 
monitor panel and hit
the key left to the "1" (forgot what it is called, has a wave symbol at 
the  top).
You can in fact make each panel full screen. Eg select the timeline 
window and hit that key and all
you have on your monitor is the timeline. In that case you would 
obviously need another monitor
to see what you are doing. Very handy function sometimes.

To copy your footage from the SD card you have to use the program 
provided by Sony.
Firstly it also copies the metadata and secondly when you record long 
clips they will be
recorded in sections of 2Gb maximum. These sections have to be stitched 
together
during copying. If you don't use the program and copy the individual 
sections you can
loose frames.
You the import the clips into Premiere.
