Yes, "tilde" is pronounced "tilda" (but if it is pronounced that way, why
isn't it spelled that way???). I always knew the other symbol on that key to
be the grave accent, or accent key, but as a long-time programmer, we
referred to it most often as the "back quote". (If you do a Google search on
that key you can read all about its history and variances on printing
equipment and various keyboards around the world - actually more than you'll
ever want to know.)
