Perl was created by an SA.
I am a SA, not a programmer.
USENIX and SAGE have been and continue to be one of the longest running
        supporters of Perl.
I am not a programmer.
and no, I am not a programmer.

I am not "Dark Matter" either.

This isn't a programmer v. Dark Matter issue. I would gladly spend my days
with awk before using Java for system admin...oh, but tell that to the
programmers who force us to use a Java based gui as root so we can install
some commercial package.

SAs have been using Perl daily for the last 12 years...we don't need to be
evangelised or convinced. 

Spend your time convincing the people who really need it. :)
