Cheerskep, have you ever heard the word "beautiful" used in rehearsals of
either operas, films, musicals, or dramas ?
I vaguely remember a recorded rehearsal of a symphony orchestra, where some
famous conductor said something like "the oboe has such a beautiful part,
let's make sure we can hear it"
(And, I'm just wondering, have you ever heard anyone in any of the arts say
something like "let's go make some art(or music, or drama, or poetry)" -- and
be obviously sardonic about it?)

I've never seen a dance in preparation, but I've seen operas and plays
rehearsed, and a full-length feature movie with stars directed -- and the word
'aesthetic' never arose. All instruction and commentary was in the form of
specificities. The most abstract they ever got was to describe the mood/tone
sought, or to discuss a character's motive.
