It's more in the mood of someone who does not own a drawing-board say, "Well, it's back to the drawing board." Or like the football team on the sidelines before the opening kickoff when they join hands, say a little prayer, and then shout, "Let's go!" I can imagination a guy WITH a drawing board, sitting down down at it, clapping his hands once, and saying, "Okay! Let's make some art!" It's harmlessly ritualistic, combining elements of exhortation and arch self-ridicule.
