Actually -  those were not rhetorical questions, and if Miller left any
prompts for how he they should be answered, he did so unintentionally.

I was just inviting Boris to expand his discussion of why Berger's four modes
are   "not for those who create paintings":

*Are they "not for those who create paintings" only because they are  not
useful to them?

*Is there any point in non-painters talking about painting technologies at
all? (unless "technology" only involves the ideas found in  chemistry and
physics)
