The difference you cite between "put-in-ers" and "take-out-ers" reminds me of
the difference between the Poussinistes and Rubenistes, that is, between
paintings of clearly delineated objects and scenes (Poussin) and paints with
bravura brushwork and blurred outlines (Rubens).
