Interesting idea. I use 18mm 7 way duraline now. But that is for main routes
that really need it.

I could put a 19 way down the fence line and just hand dig when someone wants
service. I foresee one problem: Homeowners are known to replace their fence
without calling for a locate. I would like to put it at 18-24 inches if I did
this.

At the end of the block you are going to have to have a splice case. Have
never tried to put a dozen microfiber drops in an enclosure. Sounds messy.

Something that might get work would be to do a 19 way 8.5/6 or 10/6 microduct
fed from both ends. Cut 3-4' trenches near the corner of each block of four
units and then bore through and pull back the 19 way. Pull the 19 way up in
each trench just enough to splice in four drop ducts and route them just under
the fence for each lot and CAP them leaving them underground. Then push the 19
way back down and cover it. When you want to do an install, just dig up the
drop duct in the corner of the customers lot, couple on a duct, run it to their
house and push/pull a drop through it.

Might be easier to just pull in a larger duct, expose it with the trenches, cut
out a 3-4' section in each trench, pull in the 19 way, and then break out the
drop ducts. That way you don't have to hit your trench exactly and will know
that you can pull up enough slack and then push it back into the ground.

No peds or hand holes in anyone's yards and when you need to do an install you
only need to access the customers yard in question.

Are you going to get an easement from each homeowner?

How do you deal with the fences short of two bores and a HH or slack loop in
every back yard?

I'm in FL this week trying to get a back side of the house FTTH build back on
track and if I had to do it again I think I would have kept the mainline in
front of the houses with laterals between them back to hand holes in the back.
Ran into way too much unmarked crap in the back.

Lets say you are going into a neighborhood like this. I could bore down
the back fences and put a duct from one end to the other.
Then perhaps dig the duct up in the middle of each lot at their back fence
and pull a slack loop up into a pedestal.
Or just direct bury the slack loop for now.

Later cut in a splitter if I wanted to do PON. Trying to avoid a bunch of
handholes etc.
