The $30K truck market is clearly not where this truck is aimed. My F-150 had an MSRP of a bit over $50K. Out the door was a lot less than that, but once sales tax was added, it ended up close to $50K again. It's not a "fancy" truck by any means (it's an XLT which is fairly pedestrian as amenities go), but it's not bare bones either.

I’m well aware of what a truck costs. We purchased a new Tundra two years ago. Plenty of power. 4x4. $30k out the door.

Go to a lot and see what trucks cost. They're not cheap. I know three people that have fairly nothing special trucks that were $50k - $55k. 3/4 ton diesel 4x4 4-door.

I purchased a $30k Tundra..... $40 is getting high, $50 is ridiculous
for a truck - especially a work truck that will get beat up.

My house only cost $59,000.  No way I'm paying that amount for a truck
that will be gone in 5-10 years.
