I tore the meniscus in my right knee the first time I tried (and failed) to snow ski when I was 20 years old. I suffered through with that bum knee for almost 20 years, when I had is scoped. The doc said I will get arthritis in it sooner with only a partial meniscus, but I still refer to it as my good knee. The left one is a little tweaky, but is not a real issue. The last few years the right knee gets a little uncomfortable during cold weather, but is fine if I keep it moving.

My rotator cuff issues are similar, but less of an issue these days. The problem was always that it is a long slow slog through therapy. The last time I messed up (also my right shoulder), it took almost two years to get it back to normal. What worked for me was to take moderate amounts of ibuprofen, and try not to do anything too drastic. Once the inflammation went down, I started doing VERY light weight dumbbell exercises and slowly worked my way up to normal weights. Go slow and easy, because even slight tweaks and you're back to square one.

Some of you may know I fell off this side mount back in August...I should not have tried to climb it since I had been on bed rest from retinal operation for two months mas o menos.
Well I finally got to see specialist...torn meniscus in right knee, and suspected rotator cuff tear on right shoulder.
Need to get MRIs and starting me on PT...might need surgery....damn.
My own damn fault..
