But before the Internet and cable TV and podcasts, we only had to hear about our own crazy uncle’s views at Thanksgiving, not everybody else’s. Most people shut up about their views in public and seem perfectly nice and normal, unless they feel they are among people in their own silo, or unless alcohol is involved.
