Yes, it does have an X mode.

FWIW, if you get a lot of snow, I have Vredestein Wintrac Pro winter tires
on a separate set of Subaru wheels and really like them. The 2022 came with
summer performance tires not all season so not for winter driving, but I've
got a set for the 2014 Forester now too. Previously had Michelin X-Ice and
those were OK but nothing to write home about.

Does the Solterra have X-Mode? That's like something Q would put on a Bond
car.

I used to drive Subarus before my 15 year sojourn with Leafs. I really
missed the 4WD in the winter. Leafs would do OK but they torque steer like
crazy when you accelerate. This new car has none of that and should be
great in the snow like all Subarus are.

Well, I've got 2 Subies, a 2014 and a 2022. Both internal combustion engine
though.

I would say ICE but that has a different connotation now.

Sadly, no tax credits. This is a one year old 2024. Used by their service
department as a loaner. 5000 miles. 200 mile range. I like it much more
than the Leaf. Acceleration is great. Much better lane tracking.

Is it the 2026 model with the longer range? I'm assuming it's almost
identical to a Toyota bZ?

Did you get an EV tax credit? Those expired a month ago, didn't they? I
guess like renewable energy, EVs are still desirable even without govt
incentives now.

Nissan threw their hands up and said they could not see anything wrong.

So now I am driving a demo unit that I bought from Subaru that had 5000
miles.

Soltera. Loving it.
