Take a look at Grandstream. They have a CHEAP DVR (<$200) you just have to add drives. I think their night time quality is better than HIK and are in the same price range. What I have is pretty poor quality. I have used axis before and they are good. Like a low cost DVR type of thing though. Are there any decent open source DVRS etc etc. Outdoors we want IR. Like to have PTZ on some of the stuff.
