Yes to the M5 Loco and the Zirkel mount. Antenna performance is excellent, compared to the NanoBridge and NanoBeam which sometimes seem no better than a Loco. And you can use 5150-5250. And cute as a bug.
Although I don’t expect U-NII-1 to stay quiet. I see home routers coming by default set to auto select 1 channel in 2.4 GHz and 44+48 in 5 GHz. Which I have to agree is a logical choice. On the tri-band routers I see the default third band being 5.7 GHz, something like 153 or 157. No one wants to use DFS bands anymore. I get the round dish and why we do it but the size and aesthetics are hard to beat on a house. And instead of using a J-Mount, you can use these. http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-Pack-of-Antenna-Mounts-for-Motorola-Cambium-Canopy-and-Ubiquiti-Antennas-/141266325396 From: Af [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mathew Howard Sent: Sunday, August 9, 2015 11:06 AM To: af Subject: Re: [AFMUG] Is anyone here doing ePTP at all? Yep, the price on the AC-PTP is high enough that it makes more sense to me to just go straight to the AF5x at that point. The AC radios do have their place though, in places where they make sense and the lack of UNII1/2 isn't a problem, the NanoBeams and PowerBeams are hard to beat. Agreed, in my limited experience it didn't seem like UBNT AC does as well with noise... and when you only have 5.8ghz to work with, finding a clean channel isn't always exactly easy. And if you don't have enough signal for 256qam, you're not really gaining a whole lot from AC anyhow. On Sun, Aug 9, 2015 at 10:21 AM, Josh Luthman <[email protected]> wrote: Lot more bandwidth?
